Becoming a channel for Divine.

I had a client ask me the other day to write about how to be a channel. What a great request I thought! I was eager to respond because it is central to my purpose in this life - to help people clear their channels to have a more direct line to God, Source, the Divine.

Some people get triggered by the word God, so let’s start there shall we?

I am not going to shy away from the fact that many of us have a father wound. This can come from our relationship with the man who played a formative role in our life… or lack thereof. Many of us also have a God wound from our experience with the church/religion, either directly from the church or as a part of the collective story of culture we were raised in, religious or not. One aspect of God is as the Divine Father. And not just the bearded man in the sky. It wasn’t that long ago that I realized I needed to heal this Father wound for myself, and with that I cultivated a very personal and loving relationship with God as the Father. Needless to say, it has been a gamechanger for me in the safety, security, and love I feel within myself and my life.

I had nurtured a relationship with the Divine Mother which came from my love of the Earth. I feel the Earth as an abundantly nurturing Source of Love… but she can also be fierce when she needs to. Everything we have in this live comes from her. Look around you! All that matter around you is made of matr (latin for mother). Why do I bring up the Mother and Father Divine? Because I believe removing these blocks and coming into right relationship with them is essential to becoming the channel for Divine you came here to be.

I also reflect on the word channel. One definition is as a waterway. Another is known by those interested in personal growth, spirituality, and intuitive healing. A channel is someone who opens up to receive messages and share them with whomever they are ‘reading’ for. I myself am opening my channel to receive guidance and messages to guide my sessions with my clients, as well as being guided in my own life. Discernment is key in this process.

Channel:

A wide strait or waterway between two landmasses that lie close to each other. A channel can also be the deepest part of a waterway, or a narrow body of water that connects two larger bodies of water. Some channels were created by glaciers that carved out deep canyons between two landmasses.

I like this definition as it reminds me of how we also carve out our own pathways to awaken our energetic channels within. Connecting our chakras and our connections to Divine.

We all have the ability to become a channel for Divine. Many of us are here on this Earth at this time to remember this ability and we all have the capacity dormant within us.

Few of us come in with this natural ability clear and unimpeded. Most of us have traumas or other blocks to its natural flow. The channel is a bit clogged you could say.

Whether we hear the call in this lifetime it is up to our souls personal path and will. Not every lifetime will manifest in this purpose, though I do see many at this time waking up to it in a time when the world, Earth, and its inhabitants are in need of it the most - collectively and individually. We have grown very distant from the Divine and the farther we grow from Source the more suffering we tend to experience, and the more harm we inflict on our Mother, Earth.

Most of us are motivated by suffering, hence why we tend to experience a great deal of pain at various times of our lives - physical, emotional, spiritual, relational - all opportunities to awaken.

So, how do we become a clearer channel?

We begin to excavate. We get curious. We begin to feel more. We listen. We unplug. And we tune IN - inward. All the things this culture is teaching you not to do.

And this is part of the journey. To reclaim your voice, your choice, your desires, your Space, your Time. Reclaim them all NOW. I feel there is no time to waste.

Why would you want to be more of a channel?

Because everything that you truly seek lies in your connection to God/Source. You can keep searching for love, peace, joy - in things, the career, the drug, your looks, the car, house, partner, child, dog… but you deep down know that that is not what fulfills your soul. There is something more and that is what you find the more you clear your channel.

What is this channel I speak of?

One way to look at it is by looking at the spine. In Hindu tradition this is understood through Kundalini rising - an awakening of the spine as a channel for life force energy, prana, qi, Divine. This is a framework that I use in my work with my clients along with chakras. You don’t have to be Hindu for this framework to be an extremely useful concept for your healing journey and transformation. When we bring our awareness to these systems we support our spiritual awakening process.

Energy flows where attention goes.

While we work together I help guide and support your process of meeting any of the road blocks along the path of your channel. There are many channels in our body - meridians, circulatory, respiratory, lymph, digestive, neurological, and so on. We will work with all these systems to help cleanse, clear, heal, renew, refresh, enliven. I often refer my clients to receive colonics and other healing modalities to support the clearing of the various channels.

All with the end goal for the opening to this life force energy of the Divine to animate your unique, authentic expression to fulfill your Divine mission on this planet. It’s not going to be like anyone else’s. And I can say from personal experience that it is most likely going to be quite scary… because its Unknown. Most of us are not big fans of the Unknown.

It takes great self trust, self responsibility, faith and trust in the Divine to surrender to the Unknown. Holding the hand of someone who has walked through many of these fires already I can safely say you can get to the other side. And with each reclamation of your Self, each fire you walk through you will come out a bit lighter and brighter.

You are burning away all the untruth, the lies, conditioning you acquired along the way that blocked the flow.

Why would we acquire all these blocks, you might be asking? Because it is in the conscious reclamation of these lost parts, the removal of these blocks that we come to know who we truly are. Without them we would not have grist for the mill for our awakening, our individuation, our return to Self. How can you find yourself if you never got lost in the first place?

Being the channel, becoming the channel of our own lives - the healer, the guru to ourselves - is what allows us to finally embrace our own personal power to create in our lives. Because in truth we are all a drop of the Divine experiencing itself in its own uniqueness. We are paradoxically the One and a drop of the One at the same time. And this is what we come to find more and more as we journey back home to ourselves.

We then receive the messages we need to navigate perfectly through our lives. Synchronicities become more common place. Magic feels more and more a way of life. We are able to be the conduits of healing, joy, and inspiration in the lives of all we meet. We are living on purpose. We live a life fulfilled.

That is not to say that it is easy! Sometimes our purpose is to take a challenging path. Because when we surrender to Divine we are committing to a life of it ALL. Because when we shy away from grief, sadness, anger, pain we inadvertently also create blocks to joy, peace, happiness, bliss, fulfillment. When we open our channel we are no longer cherry picking. Our ego gets into the passengers seat and Divine gets into the drivers seat. But we are willing to do it all because we are now in service to something FAR greater.

And this is the greatest calling of all, if you ask me.
